Victory Festival

An annual fall festival for raising funds for TownFolk's Victory Garden, created to honor Jillian Johnson. Since the first Victory Festival in 2015, the Victory Garden has gone through its first phase of building, planting, and harvesting. Money raised each year from this event will facilitate in the continued expansion and maintenance of the garden.

Committees

Victory Garden Operations:

This group is responsible for the general upkeep and improvement of the garden, ensuring beds are covered for frosts, the expansion of beds, Pavilion construction, etc.

TownFolk Table Operations:

This group is responsible for managing the relationship with Whole Foods and ensuring that we are meeting the objectives of the Whole Cities Grant such as the weekly vegetable distribution and obtaining, outfitting, and operating the trailer.

Outreach/Volunteerism:

This group is responsible for educational events, trash pick-ups, and organizing events for other grant monies we might receive. It is also responsible for adjudicated properties and other improvement initiatives and TownFolk’s relationship with the Coterie and other neighborhood community organizations such as SMILE and the police department.

Fundraising/Grants:

This group is responsible for both grant writing and fund raising events such as Victory Festival, the Community Roots Benefit, etc.

Neighborhood Social Planning:

This group is responsible for organizing neighborhood socials such as BBQs and garden parties, as well as reaching out to other neighborhood entities to coordinate on social events.

Communications:

This group is responsible for maintaining the website and social media, sending a monthly newsletter, and finding other ways to communicate with the neighborhood.
