Who We Are

TownFolk is a non-profit resident organization dedicated to improving quality of life for residents and businesses through the development and implementation of beautification projects, new community services and historic preservation efforts.

By creating a strong network of positive, forward-thinking citizens, and partnering with like-minded local businesses and organizations, we hope to restore pride to our historic neighborhood.

TownFolk promotes hand ups, not handouts. We believe in sweat equity, lending a helping hand and the true value that comes with investing in your community.


Where We Are

We are just a stone's throw from Downtown Lafayette, Louisiana, the heart of Cajun and Creole country. Our neighborhood is not only the oldest in Lafayette, one of its main thoroughfares, Cameron Street, is the old state highway, and was the main east/west route through south Louisiana before I-10 was built. This community includes areas historically known as West End Heights, Fightingville, Monroe and Promised Land, La Place des Creoles, Mills Addition and Hopkins Addition and has a rich history as part of the center of Lafayette.
